Conversion Formulas

Annual Salary from Hourly Rate

Annual Salary = Hourly Rate × Hours per Week × Weeks per Year

Standard calculation: Multiply your hourly rate by 40 hours per week and 52 weeks per year.

Monthly Salary

Monthly Salary = Annual Salary ÷ 12

Divide annual salary by 12 months. Note: This gives an average monthly amount; actual monthly pay may vary if paid bi-weekly or semi-monthly.

Weekly Salary

Weekly Salary = Hourly Rate × Hours per Week

Simply multiply your hourly rate by the number of hours you work per week.

Daily Salary

Daily Salary = Hourly Rate × Hours per Day

For an 8-hour workday, multiply your hourly rate by 8.

Note: These formulas calculate gross (pre-tax) income. Use the calculator below to see your net (take-home) pay after taxes and deductions.

Examples

Example 1: $25 per hour, 40 hours/week, 52 weeks/year

Annual Gross: $25 × 40 × 52 = $52,000

Monthly Gross: $52,000 ÷ 12 = $4,333.33

Weekly Gross: $25 × 40 = $1,000

Daily Gross (8 hours): $25 × 8 = $200

Example 2: $30 per hour, 35 hours/week, 50 weeks/year

Annual Gross: $30 × 35 × 50 = $52,500

Monthly Gross: $52,500 ÷ 12 = $4,375

Weekly Gross: $30 × 35 = $1,050

Daily Gross (7 hours): $30 × 7 = $210

Example 3: $20 per hour, 40 hours/week, 48 weeks/year (with 4 weeks unpaid time off)

Annual Gross: $20 × 40 × 48 = $38,400

Monthly Gross: $38,400 ÷ 12 = $3,200

Weekly Gross: $20 × 40 = $800

Note: Adjusting weeks per year accounts for unpaid time off, vacation, or seasonal work.
